The Outreachy December 2026 application is open!

The Outreachy application for the December 2026 internship cohort began 
on August 24th, 2026 with the application deadline on August 31st, 2026 
at 4pm UTC.

We encourage you to submit your application early!

Outreachy's goal is to increase diversity in open source. Outreachy 
provides internships to people subject to systemic bias and impacted by 
under-representation in the technical industry where they are living.

Outreachy internships are:

  💵 Paid - $7,000 USD total internship stipend

  🌍 Remote - both interns and mentors work remotely

  🕰 3 months - internships run May to August, or December to March

Past Outreachy interns are:

  ♀️  92% women

  🌈 4% transgender, genderqueer, or non-binary people

     64% people of color

     12% people from a historically disadvantaged caste or tribe

The timeline for the December 2026 internship cohort is:

Initial application period:

  - August 24th at 4pm UTC - Initial applications open

  - August 31st at 4pm UTC - Initial application deadline

Contribution period:

  - Oct 5th at  4pm UTC- Initial application results available

  - Oct 5th to Nov 2nd - Contribute to projects

  - Nov 2nd at 4pm UTC - Final application deadline

  Internship period:

  - Nov 20th at 4pm UTC - Accepted interns announced

  - Dec 7th 2026 to March 8th, 2027 - Internship period
