[Outreachy] Accepted Outreachy interns announced for the May 2023 cohort!

Hello, Congratulations to the 63 applicants who are accepted as 
Outreachy interns for the May 2023 cohort!

All accepted interns have received an email. You can check the list of

1,115 applicants had their initial application approved. We're very 
proud of the 463 applicants who recorded making a contribution to open 
source and open science mentoring organizations.

_*Applicants for May 2023 cohort*_

If you weren't selected as an intern this round, don't lose hope! The 
skills you have learned and all the ways you have grown will give you an 
advantage in the next Outreachy application period.

We encourage applicants to continue to be in contact with mentoring 
organizations. Even if you weren't selected as an intern, you have the 
option of working on a volunteer basis with your mentoring organization, 
which will help build your skills for the next Outreachy application period.

If you want feedback on your final application or contributions, please 
reach out to your mentor directly. Your mentor is the best person to ask 
for feedback.

We encourage future applicants to practice making contributions to open 
source and open science before the Outreachy application period begins.

Initial applications will open in August 2023 for the December 2023 
cohort. Please note that students in the Southern Hemisphere will be 
eligible for that round. Initial applications will open in February 2024 
for the May 2024 cohort. Please note that students in the Northern 
Hemisphere will be eligible for that round.
