[Outreachy announcement] Oct 30 4pm UTC: Deadline for most Outreachy applications

The application period for the December to March Outreachy internships is ending soon.

31 out of 61 Outreachy internship projects have an application deadline of tomorrow Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Please note that the deadline is 4pm UTC, which may not be the end of the day in your timezone. Please check this link for the correct time: https://www.google.com/search?q=4pm+UTC+to

Applicants will need to record a contribution and finish a final application by the application deadline in order to be eligible to be selected as an intern. Applicants are encouraged (but not required) to continue working with their mentors on contributions after the application deadline. Applicants can still record and edit contributions to the project on the Outreachy website.

30 Outreachy internship projects have an application deadline of November 6, 2018. If you haven't started a contribution yet, it's best if you start working now with those projects:

If you don't see any links to project details or a link to record a contribution, you either aren't logged in, or you haven't filled out the initial application at:

If you have any questions about selecting a project, please email the Outreachy mentors mailing list at <mentors at lists.outreachy.org>. If you have questions about your initial application, please email the Outreachy applicant helpers <applicant-help at outreachy.org>.

If you are having trouble contacting a mentor who has not closed their project to applicants, they may be working with many promising applicants. If you don't get a response back within a da
y or two, it's best to try contributing and applying to another project.
